2012: Curse of the Xtabai
Synopsis
A sealed ancient Mayan cave would be blown open unleashing Xtabai to wreak havoc on the world and destroy civilization. She begins by infecting the inhabitants of a nearby village with a terrible and deadly fever. The government responds by placing the village under quarantine. A team of students along with their teacher escape into the jungle to find a cure, guided only by a dream. They go deep into the bowels of the Mayan underworld, hunted by Xtabai herself. Will they ultimately succeed in defeating the evil Xtabai and saving mankind from her curse? How many will live to tell the tale?

From TMDB usersDisappointingly boring. The low budget, the lack of any characterization and the mediocre acting also hamper this film, though I can always let those sorta things go if the story is at least entertaining to see unfold - <em>'2012: Curse of the Xtabai'</em> isn't, at all. The look of Xtabai, which looks a bit like Julie Benz's character in <em>'Buffy the Vampire Slayer'</em>, is alright and they make OK use of it in parts, but unfortunately those minor glimpses don't really do anything for it in the end given the aforementioned. Neat to see a film from Belize, all the same.
