Synopsis
Barnaby and Maxine Pierce, an embattled married couple in Connecticut, are on the verge of divorce. Their son is getting married in California and they decide to drive across the country to attend. Along the way, as they visit family and friends, they reflect on their tattered relationship and the events that transpired to create the estrangement.

From TMDB usersEmpty nesters decide it’s time to sell the house and drive across country to their son’s wedding prior to their own divorce. Along the way, they stop and collect memories, meeting up with old friends, lovers, and a daughter who’s pregnant. She’s involved with a former NBA star who is not the father. Seems like everyone they’ve ever known is in a non-traditional relationship, which makes the would-be divorcees look pretty normal. I’m an admitted fan of Richard Dreyfuss (and it’s not just because I’ve been told I look a bit like him). The way this film was directed made it feel like an off-Broadway play. It was fun to watch. Don’t expect anything profound, just light entertainment.
