I've never wanted a psychopathic murderer to win more.

I went into this expecting something like Face/Off – maybe even a Korean-style remake. But despite some obvious similarities, Devils definitely goes its own way and ended up surprising me with a twist I genuinely didn’t see coming. For anyone who enjoys blood, brutality, and violent movies, there’s plenty of gore here. On top of that, the lead actors do a really solid job and make their characters believable. The murder scenes are especially well done: eerie trance-like music combined with intense, colorful lighting creates an atmosphere that already feels unsettling and pushes it even further. *** Mild SPOILERS from here *** The setup itself sounds familiar: a detective hunting down a serial killer. Nothing new at first glance. But Devils separates itself by adding a body-switching angle to the story. Because of that, you’re not only rooting for the protagonist to catch the killer — you’re also constantly worried that he might end up being exposed as the killer himself. I really liked the core idea: sometimes you have to become a devil to catch one. Of course, things don’t go according to plan — and in the end, people get burned and innocent lives are dragged into it. I honestly felt sorry for one of the characters. Overall, I had a really good time with this movie. I’d definitely recommend it.
