When the dream demon invades Ling Xiao's dream, Wu Zhen catches it red-handed. The demon isn't willing to return to the Demon City with Wu Zhen. Thus, it causes her to have a dream within a dream.

At night, Wu Zhen detects that something's off about her body. She sneaks out of the Mei Residence to find Wu Zi Shu. Wu Zi Shu tells her that he has a way to turn her into a full demon.

Liu Tai Zhen tells Wu Zhen that the Skin Shop is preparing a skin for her. Wu Zhen finds out that the price to pay for becoming a complete demon is to give up on her original body and cultivate in seclusion for 50 years.

Wu Zi Shu encourages Hu Zhu to find Shuang Jiang to verify his identity, intentionally leading her into the hands of Chang Ming and his fellow exorcists. Chang Ming strikes Hu Zhu off a cliff. Shuang Jiang leaps down after her.

Under the pretence of catching a cheating spouse, Wu Zhen claims that Mei Zhu Yu is her husband. The two put on an act for Chang Ming Lian Fu. Chang Ming then reveals that the Divine Fire from 18 years ago was caused by the Demon City, and tells Mei Zhu Yu that he should avenge his parents.

Wu Zhen asks Wu Zi Shu if he knew that Mei Zhu Yu was related to Changxi Palace long ago. Wu Zi Shu confesses. Mei Zhu Yu returns to the Mei Residence. Everything has changed. He doesn't know what to do.

Liu Tai Zhen is in a hurry to get her body back. Thus, she frequents the Mei Residence to seek Mei Zhu Yu's help. The public witnesses her visits. They gossip about the relationship between her and Mei Zhu Yu. Wu Chun Dao and Liu Gong Shen head to the Mei Residence to investigate the affair. They see their intimate behavior. Liu Gong Shen faints out of spite.

Wu Zi Shu is shoved aside by Mei Zhu Yu. Wu Zhen uses her last bit of conscience to suppress the core inside her body. Wu Zi Shu wants to check on Wu Zhen but Mei Zhu Yu stops him and blames Wu Zi Shu for almost killing Wu Zhen.

Wu Zhen and Mei Zhu Yu try to inquire about the location of the Zhuyu Divine Herb. They come across a mysterious residence. The guests meet Physician Gu one by one, hoping to fulfill their wishes.

Elder Gray obtains the demon core from the book warehouse and attempts to kill Wu Zhen and release the Satanic Fiend when Wu Zi Shu is restrained from leaving Demon City but Wu Zi Shu notices. Mei Zhu Yu brings Wu Zhen back to Changxi Palace.

Demonic ulcers appear on Wu Zhen's arm again. Mei Zhu Yu knows that there's not much time left. He decides to risk his life. He utilizes an artifact to travel back 18 years in time.

Wu Zhen wakes up with every member of Changxi Palace present besides Mei Zhu Yu. Wu Zi Shu and Elder Gray work together to achieve their respective goals.

Elder Gray forces Liu Tai Zhen to remove her scale. After Wu Zhen finds out, she discusses with Huan Zhu and Wu Zi Shu to find out which location requires the Cat Lord's blood and Serpent Lord's scale to gain access to. In the end, she's reminded of an abandoned warehouse.

Elder Gray dumps the origin power into the ruined temple's well and plans to destroy Chang'an. Liu Tai Zhen and the rest suppress the sinister force of the well from the Demon City. Everyone from Changxi Palace works together to control the well but they cannot stop the sinister force from spreading.
