S.E.E.S is a group of students from Gekkoukan High School that are using the power of Personas to fight The Dark Hours. Makoto joins S.E.E.S as a Persona user after going back to Tatsumi Port Island after 10 years.

Makoto meets Kenji, who at first glance seems to be an average student; but there's something different. He's only into older women. He has a friendly attitude, eager to talk about himself to whoever listens to him, namely the protagonist and Kazushi. Kenji is specially in love with his teacher.

Initially, Fuuka is a very reserved, shy and timid girl who rarely speaks up. this made her an easy target for school bullies, to the point of Natsuki Moriyama locking her in the school gym, which resulted in her getting trapped in Tartarus. At the beginning of May, she makes regular visits to Tatsumi Memorial Hospital. SEES theorizes that Fuuka became trapped in Tartarus when the school transformed into Tartarus at midnight, and that only several hours passed for her in the Dark Hour, not days. SEES takes part in a dangerous mission to rescue Fuuka. In the Full Moon Battle following her rescue in Tartarus, Fuuka is awakened to the reality of her Persona power. At the same time, Natsuki, one of the girls who bullied Fuuka, wanders into the first floor of Tartarus, following the voice of the beckoning Shadow.

Meet Mitsuru, your senpai, the student council president, and leader and founder of S.E.E.S that welcome you and guided your group through tartarus before Fuuka. Mitsuru is the heiress of the Kirijo Group, a very wealthy family run conglomerate. Due to her wealthy upbringing, Mitsuru hasn't tried things like hamburgers before that would otherwise be normal to teenagers her age. She's fluent in another language and will occasionally use foreign phrases when speaking. Though she doesn't have much time to herself due to her other activities, she owns a motorcycle that she enjoys riding on when she gets the rare opportunity to do so.

Hidetoshi Odagiri is a strict, serious and harsh member of the Disciplinary Committee. He is initially cold but learns the values of friendship and trust via Makoto.

Bunkichi and Mitsuko are like fire and ice, and the common theme that causes them to stick together are their attempts to cope with the past.

Meet best girl. Despite her cheerful exterior, Yukari is secretly a very lonely girl. Although she deeply values bonds and relationships with others, she's afraid of letting anyone get too close to her with fear that they'll find out about her traumatic past. Makoto is an exception to this, as the two can relate to each other due to their shared losses.

Ignoring the pain, Kazushi continues training, but find that he could not keep up with other teammates' progress. Angered at this predicament, Kazushi finally pushed his knee to the limit, to the point that if he continues with his training, he might not be able to walk at all. Finally, with Makoto's urging he decided to tell the team about his injuries.

The treasurer for the Student Council. Chihiro is a very shy individual, she is not comfortable around men and has trouble standing up for herself. Due to this, she often has trouble expressing herself to others. Mokoyois the first person she begins developing a bond with.

Online gamer who has welcomed Makoto to an MMORPG. She might be someone you know.

Keisuke is a kind, friendly and modest student. Because of his lack of understanding of what he aspires to be, he is a rather eccentric student when it comes to his passions. In club, Keisuke points out that though he's not an expert, he is its leader. Also, due to his unrealized passion to become a doctor, he can be caught "playing doctor" when the chance to help others arrives, putting an inappropriate amount of consideration in caring for them, including completely disregarding social norms.

Yuko Nishiwaki is the team manager of the athletic club. Yuko expresses concerns that she eats too much, but attributes it to being so active. Another girl bullies Yuko because a basketball player dated both of them at the same time, without their knowledge.

Maiko is a girl that attends elementary school, and is first seen at the Naganaki Shrine playing on the playground. Makoto brings her a Weird Takoyaki and a Mad Bull.

Pharos is the weird kid that welcomes you to the S.E.E.S dorm room the first time you arrive and makes you sign a contract. ¿Will he ever appears again?

Bebe is a cheery, kind foreign student, who speaks in a French accent, enjoys fashion design and is infinitely fascinated by Japanese culture. Bebe is somewhat lonely in Japan due to his poor Japanese alienating him from most people there and is extremely pleased to have someone he can consider as a friend.

Mutatsu is a bald old monk.

Though having a competitive spirit, Mamoru takes everything for granted, driven by strong misconceptions about his life. Mamoru doesn't mind being spoiled by restaurants, as he thinks that once he becomes famous, he'll pay them back for it. Much of his way of thought has been caused by the death of his father years prior, as it overcomplicated his life, suppressing his underlying concern for the sake of fulfilling his passions.

Nozomi is extremely obsessed with food, often doing nothing but eating as a pastime. He avoids unpleasant feelings by constantly over indulging in eating. Sometimes these feelings manifest physically as indigestion and aggression.

"Because... the meaning of my life is not something I should worry about. It's really what others think of my life or what I was able to do for them. So... for me, or you, or anyone... the meaning of our lives is something that we make but don't see. People can't survive without help from others. ...We all depend on one another."

As SEES ascends the last block of Tartarus...
